                                                                                              LIVING HOPE #24:

                                                                                                 Judgment Day

                                                                                                 1 Peter 4:17-19

*THERE ARE T____ TYPES OF JUDGMENT:

A) “The Great White T__________ of Judgment” (vss. 17b-18)

  1. “The Righteous are S________”-
  2. “Those who do not O______ the G__________ of God”-
  3. “The Ungodly and the Sinner” are eternally S______________ from God.
    1. See Matthew 25:31-46, 2 Thessalonians 1:5-10, also Rev. 20:11-15

B) “The Judgment Seat of Christ” (vss. 17a, 19, see also 2 Corinthians 5:10)

    • Believers’ W________ will be T__________:

    • It begins with the H________________ of God.

    • Therefore, suffer for doing G______.

1 Peter 4:17-19 (ESV)

17For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18And

"If the righteous is scarcely saved,

what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?"

19Therefore let those who suffer according to God’s will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good.

2 Thessalonians 1:5-10 5This is evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are also suffering— 6since indeed God considers it just to repay with affliction those who afflict you, 7and to grant relief to you who are afflicted as well as to us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels 8in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His might, 10when He comes on that day to be glorified in His saints, and to be marveled at among all who have believed, because our testimony to you was believed.
